Quite a story!
17th Jan 2022
Now here's quite a story!
The Baxter Family, from Canada, are headed to Chitambo!
Mr and Mrs Laverne and Rene Baxter were teachers at the Malcolm Moffat College, Serenje, in the 1960s and 70s.
Their daughter, Megan, was born at Chitambo Hospital on 25th January 1972.....delivered by FoCH Chair, Jo Vallis's, father, Dr Hamilton Currie.
Megan celebrates her 50th birthday on 25th January 2022 and the family are marking it by revisiting the hospital.
The Chitambo Hospital team are waiting to receive them.
The union is made even more special because the Baxters contributed to our Crowdfunding Appeal for an Oxygen pipeline for Chitambo Hospital.
They will be the first donors to see the slab which is being constructed to receive the new oxygen generator being donated by Scottish Government.
What a special occassion and we wish everyone a lovely celebration together! Please see some Baxter family photos (L to R): Newborn Baby Megan; family group; Megan the Birthday Girl!
Chitambo is a special place which lives on in so many hearts.
