Flyspec to the rescue again

March 2025 saw Flyspec emergency Consultants back at Chitambo to conduct more orthopaedic surgery. This time they were there for a full week. They assessed 140 patients, most of whom were children,and conducted 22 orthopaedic procedures.
They also highlighted areas of need including transport, visitor accommodation, and facilities for cerebral palsied children, to name a few.
They paid tribute to the local hospital team who, despite lack of resources, worked hard, in collaboration, to deliver the care to needy patients.
The doctors said that: "Exchange of knowledge and skills was a key part of the surgical camp, with both partners benefitting mutually."
Members of FoCH's International Board are hoping to meet with the doctors, on their return to Scotland, to hear their first hand reports and recommendations.
We hope that this is just the start of a longstanding collaboration which will benefit Chitambo immensely.
