FoCH in mourning

9th Mar 2022

This International Women's Day, Friends of Chitambo is in mourning for the loss of our brave and beloved sister, Mrs Cecilia Mwape Musonda.

Cecilia, who was one of Chitambo Hospital's longest serving midwives, passed away yesterday morning (7th March 2022) in a Kitwe hospital. This followed a long health battle after she lost both legs above knee in August 2021.

She leaves 3 sons, 2 of whom are under 15 and one under 2. Our hearts go out to them and to all the family as well as to all her colleagues, friends and those who knew her. Our deepest, heartfelt condolances and may everyone find comfort in God and knowing that they did everything possible to help.

A busload of Chitambo staff and student nurses travelled to Kitwe, in the Copperbelt, overnight last night, to attend the funeral today, Wednesday 9th March. We are with them in spirit and wish them very safe travels.

May Ba Cecilia's beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

Lesa Amupale...God bless everyone.
