A high note to end on
8th Mar 2021
Our Scottish government sponsored grant project on strengthening emergency care communications in Chitambo District, Zambia, is ending on a high note. Today marks the start of the last planned activity: In-hospital Trauma and Community First Aid training. This is led by Boston Emergency Care Specialist, Dr Morgan Broccoli, assisted by 5 well trained and able in-country trainers. These include Dr Patricia Chibisakunda and Dr Winnie Kunda from University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Lusaka; Mr Levi Chifwaila, Senior Nurse Lecturer, Kabwe College of Nursing; Mr Francis Zombe, Threatre Nurse/Ambulance Controller, Chitambo Hospital; and Mr Norman Mukuma, Charge Nurse, Chitambo Hospital.
The ...carefully socially distanced...training was opened this morning by Dr Jackson Phiri, District Health Director (pictured).
Congratulations to the whole team for reaching this point, despite many challenges. All the very best with the training. We look forward to hearing how it goes.
