A very historic visit

Thank you to the Scottish and Zambian Governments for inviting Friends of Chitambo board members, Mr Levi Chifwaila (Zambian Chair) and Mrs Ida Waddell, to a historic reception in Lusaka (16/10/25), on the occasion of Scottish First Minister, Rt Hon John Swinney's State Visit to Zambia. This is the first ever visit of a Scottish First Minister to Zambia.
Levi and Ida received the invitation at very short notice and pulled out all the stops to be there to represent FoCH and Chitambo. Levi, Head of the Department of Nursing Studies at Kwana Nkhruma University, Kabwe, dropped everything to travel the 200 miles to Lusaka. Similarly, Ida left visiting surgical teams to fend for themselves, at Mwandi Mission Hospital in Western Province, in order to travel the vast distance to Lusaka, on bad roads.
