Mothers Waiting Shelter progresss

Thanks to many extremely generous donors, the Mothers Waiting Shelter (MWS) project is progressing.
The site has been selected (pictured above). It is currently just a grassy field behind the hospital, close to the single maternity ward.
Pictures are courtesy of flying doctors, Mr Alberto Gregori (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon) and Dr Trish O'Connor (Consultant Emergency Medicine Specialist), who recently paid a clinical visit to Chitambo. The doctors are NHS Lanarkshire Consultants, in Scotland, who volunteer with Flyspec, a Zambian flying emergency service.
They do a phenomenal amount of clinical work in Malawi and Zambia. This time they included Chitambo in their programme and conducted orthopaedic surgery, mainly on babies and children.
