NHSScotland and Friends Global Health Citizenship Conference

3rd Nov 2020

3 Friends of Chitambo (FoCH) Trustees, Mr Levi Chifwaila, Senior Nurse Lecturer, Zambia, Dr Bridget Innes and Dr Jo Vallis (Scotland), participated in the inspiring live streamed NHSScotland and Friends Global Health Citizenship Conference today (Tuesday 3rd November 2929). The conference opened with addresses by Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, and Minister for International Development,Jenny Gilruth. Both pledged their ongoing support for global health work despite the many pressures on them here in Scotland.

There was a very inspiring keynote speech on Quality Health Services in the COVID-19 era, by Dr Sam's Sayed, WHO. He emphasised the importance of global health partnerships, focused on locally determined need, in helping to improve quality of healthcare around the world. Much food for thought.

Many thanks to the organisers. It was great to be able to share participation as a team, across the miles: https://events.rcpe.ac.uk/nhss-and-friends-global-citizenship-conference-2020
