Happy New Year!
It may be New Year but it's all go at Chitambo. Everything is coming together for installation of the oxygen generating plant.
A multiway collaboration between Chitambo District Health Office and Hospital, Friends of Chitambo, First Aid Africa, Scottish Government, Mulilo Gases, the Zambian Ministry of Health, Stadia Engineering, and others, is preparing for this.
The genetator plant is due in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on 7th January. It will travel by road to Chitambo, arriving in mid-January.
Huge thanks to Honorable Chanda Mutale, Chitambo District MP, for releasing Community Development Funding (CDF) for construction of a slab and shelter to house the generator.
Stadia Engineering has already begun digging the foundations for the slab and shelter. See pictures provided by Dr Chabala, Medical Officer in Charge at Chitambo Hospital.
A small technical team, lead by Mulilo Gases, will travel to Chitambo on Sunday 2nd January to check on the orientation of the slab, and other techniclities, before the building work proceeds.
