The Stars are Aligned!

The stars are aligned for Chitambo! Those are the words of the Flyspec medical duo who recently operated at Chitambo. Spending half their year in Zambia and Malawi, the couple fly all over Zambia operating at remote hospitals. This year, it was Chitambo's turn and the doctors spent a whole week there operating with the local hospital team. They were hugely impressed by the team's resilience, considering the hospital's distinct lack of resources and also observed that Chitambo District is amongst the most poorly resourced of any they have seen in Zambia.
They are committed to helping to change this and have agreed to join a nascent Consortium Group which aims to work together to improve health care in Chitambo District.
They are well connected in medical circles in the UK and wasted no time in sourcing good quality second hand emergency care equipment for the Chitambo Maternity unit....a resuscitaire and 2 phototherapy machines (pictured). The resuscitaire has now been shipped to Zambia and the smaller phototherapy machines will soon follow by air.
Profound thanks to the doctors. Having their knowledge and expertise on board is making a huge difference. Several other partner groups are also coming on board, greatly increasing the potential for collaboration for the greater good.
