Spring Fundraiser

FoCH held a fundraising event at the Spring Streetfair here in Penicuik, Scotland, on Saturday 30th May.
We raised almost £400/8,400 Zambian Kwachas towards health projects in Chitambo District.
Thank you to our helpers, Joanne (our Secretary), Heather (who went to school at Sakeji in North West Province), and Rosemary and her granddaughter Rowan (aged 13). Rosemary has recently moved to Penicuik from the Isle of Man. It is our very good luck that she is a professional baker and her baking sold like hot cakes. Young Rowan, too, takes after her grandmother and her giant cookies and crispie cakes also sold well.
Heather and Rosemary also proved extremely competent at raffle ticket sales and competed with each other on that! It was a draw!
Thank you all. We had fun and enjoyed putting Chitambo even more on the map here. Chitambo is already well known and loved here. And the sun shone...a small miracle for Scottish springtime!
