Our New Website! Powered by Contentful

Motivation
Since 2011 friendsofchitambo.org.uk has been running on Google's Blogger platform. The site has done us very well, it has been quick and easy to post new content and relatively easy for our visitors to nagivate but the platform has some limitations that we couldn't overcome.
In late 2018 we started the process of developing a completely custom website, 100% built for our needs and designed to make it as easy as possible to get the most information to you, our supporters and followers.
The New Site
Welcome to our new place on the web! We hope that you'll find lots of useful and interesting information here. In the coming months we'll be posting blogs and details of upcoming events. We'll also be adding more information about our past projects and future plans so please check back regularly!
Contenful
Contentful have played a huge part in the creation of this new website. Their service allows us to host, edit and publish web content in a structured and consistent way. When combined with Gatsby (an open source website generator) the result is a blazing fast website that loads images and text content quickly, no matter how slow your connection speed is.
Contentful have an incredibly generous pro-bono pricing tier for charities and non-profits which has allowed us to build the best possible online experience without diverting vital funds from our project work.
Thank you Contentful!
Special Mention
A massive thanks to Edinburgh software engineer, Paul Vallis, for designing our new website for us free of charge and to FoCH Trustee, Heather Emond, for working with him to populate the site and get us to launch point. What a lot of very talented and big-hearted people who are making a real difference to our mission to contribute to a ‘healthier Chitambo District’ in remote, rural Zambia!
