X-Ray Machine Appeal

Appealing to you!
FoCH Trustees, Jo and Heather, met a small boy with multiple arm fractures in Chitambo Hospital, Central Zambia. He was struck by a car whilst walking along the Great North Road. Pedestrians and cyclists are very vulnerable on this busy trunk road, Zambia's main trade route with Tanzania.
This boy could not be x-rayed because the hospital's x-ray machine is currently not working. It needs 30 new long-life batteries, costing £645 (£21 per battery). The hospital cannot afford this in the current economic crisis where, instead of receiving monthly government grants of around £4,000, they have only received one grant of around £1,700 this year.
